On Being Taught By Students

Being Taught By Students

Have ever experienced to be taught by a student? Have you ever experienced being taught by your classmate? If you are given a chance to teach your classmates, would you accept this kind of a once in a lifetime opportunity? For me, probably I would accept this once in a lifetime opportunity. I think this would be a pride for my part but I do not know if others would like this opportunity. I think, this would be an exciting event for me.

Last month, on February, a KYDS Events was been held. This event was a chance for teachers and other faculty members to rest in about three school days but that is not the most interesting part of this event but it is because students are the ones who replaced the teachers. They are the ones who teach their own classmates. But before they become one of the teachers, they must apply to the teacher they want to replace. If they want to teach Science A or Science B, they must apply to Madam Gallo and if they want to teach English, they should apply to Sir Montejo to become an English teacher.

A lot of students applied to different subject teachers and some students applied on the principal to become the principal of the campus. Some wanted to become the guidance councilor, the clerk and some wanted to become a computer attendant or a librarian. During the application, I applied to become a computer attendant. I thought that I am the only one who applied for this position but some of my classmates also applied on this position. Because of this event, students become busy after the class hours and they have been running here to there.

At that time, I was not able to apply because they said that the position of a Computer Attendant was already taken. When the Science A applicants were going to teach us, I already feel excited to see their performance. When they have already performed their duties, I was very pleased to saw their excellent performances. I was very happy on the intelligence and the confidence they have possessed, by these things, these shows that they really performed good during their discussion. During the second lecturer, I was very surprised because I did not expect to see one of my naughty classmates to be one of the student teachers in Social Science. But despite of his naughty attitude, he performed a good job on his part. After the excellent performances of the student teachers, the subject teachers were very much impressive on the performances of the students. After the day of their teaching to us they were awarded. Some student teachers become the best Science A teachers among the first year students and some become the best teachers of the different subjects on different year levels. Some students also became the best principal, best guidance councilor, the best clerk or the best librarian.

This kind of opportunity was a once in a lifetime chance only so you must not take for granted this kind of opportunity because as what we all know “Opportunity Knocks only Ones”
